While we consider ourselves an intelligent life form, there are several among us whose actions would say otherwise. Some people go to great lengths to remind us that we are not as sophisticated as we would like to believe, usually in the form of epic fails. While no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, these people really messed up and regretted it instantly. They might not be laughing, but you can get some enjoyment that quite a few people did something much more embarrassing than you.
1. Driving On Ice Might Not Be The Best Idea
It might be obvious to most that you can't drive a heavy truck on ice, but it doesn't register to these people. If you were planning to take the camper to the nearest frozen lake, let this be a warning that your vehicle will sink to the bottom of the lake if you try it.
Maybe this person was convinced that their car would turn into a submarine if they drove it in the water, but that wasn't the case. It turned into a huge failure, and they had to be towed out of the lake. That was probably an embarrassing phone call to make.
2. In Case You Didn't Know, Plastic Melts
You can pretty much ask anyone over the age of five if plastic melts, and they will know the correct answer. This person clearly didn't get the memo that you aren't supposed to put plastic boards into the oven unless you are trying to make a mess.
The pizza is now inedible, and you can see where the melted Italian flag details used to be. If they are Italian, their ancestors would be very disappointed with their ability to make pizza correctly. They should probably have their oven privileges revoked for a while.
3. Starting The Morning With A Car Full Of Snow
One day it is sunny and you can have your sunroof open, while the next day it is a snowstorm, and in some parts of the world that is perfectly normal. This person must have forgotten there was going to be a blizzard and left their sunroof open overnight.
The following day they came out to the car only to find that it was filled to the brim with snow. Now they have to shovel around the car and inside with hopes of making it to the office on time. That will be an interesting excuse for their boss.
4. Headphones Will Get Tangled In Any Situation
Have you ever noticed that wire headphones get tangled just by looking at them? While they are the more affordable option than wireless ones, we know there is a reason why they are becoming less and less popular.
This person was innocently listening to music while they baked when their headphones were violently ripped out of their ears. It seems like an occupational hazard to wear ire headphones while using an electric mixer, and we learned our lesson because of this person's mistake.
5. When You Order Something Online Without Looking At The Dimensions
Have you ever ordered something online, thinking it was going to be large, but when it came in the mail, it was something that could fit in a dollhouse? Unless they have a giant cat, we are going to guess that this was not what they were expecting to arrive.
This is why it is crucial to read the dimensions of something before placing your order. The cat will probably get bored of staring at the tiny cat tree because he can't climb or play with it. Hopefully, he doesn't try to eat it.
6. I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Spilled Ice Cream
Of all the ice cream drops you have seen over time, this has to be the hardest one to understand. We still aren't sure what happened here because most people would have kept the carton in the grocery bag in the back seat where it would be safe.
This person probably couldn't wait to have a bite right out of the fresh carton, so they pulled it out of the bag to taste it. However, the universe had other plans for them, and they dropped the whole thing. To make matters worse, the block of ice cream didn't want to stay in the carton.
7. Interior Designing Gone Wrong
When you design a kitchen, you would probably go in with the mindset that you want everything to be as functional as possible. These people didn't have the same idea because they didn't realize that some of the drawers can't open.
These homeowners must have hired the wrong people for the job since the person forgot that putting two drawers perpendicular wouldn't work. They should have gotten a discount for this mindless job, and we hope they got it fixed.
8. You Probably Shouldn't Mess With Nature
This person made a big mistake when he decided to put his head in a tree’s hole to take a look inside. Well, this is how the occupant inside defended their home, and it wasn't pretty for this guy. The people at the hospital were quite confused when this guy came into the emergency room.
At least he now knows he shouldn't go bothering wild animals in their natural habitat anymore. We know those were painful going into his head, so just imagine how awful he felt when a nurse was plucking them out one by one.
9. The Shady Criminal Without A Name
When a crime goes down in your neighborhood, the local news will usually cover the story with all the details you need to know, like the criminal's name and picture. While they sometimes won't release all of the details, this is taking it a step further.
Whoever was in charge of writing the name for TV must have been pretty embarrassed when they saw this flash on the screen. While it is a name that would send shivers down your spine, it is a bit confusing to those who don't understand that it is a mistake.
10. No Spatial Awareness
Some people have no regard for what is going on around them like this person. This girl was too focused on making sure her lipstick looked perfect for the pictures to realize that the bottom of her dress was stuck in the tire of the person's car.
It would have been pretty embarrassing if no one noticed, and she ripped her dress when she was trying to walk away. Thankfully her date was kind enough to untangle her while she checked her makeup. He is probably wishing he asked someone else to prom.
11. Boats Are Supposed To Float, Right?
The last time we checked, we thought boats were supposed to stay above the water. Correct us if we are wrong, but this one looks like something is broken. While most of us never have the chance to own a luxury boat, we hope it wouldn't look like this if we did.
It seems that this person was a bit careless when they put their boat in the water because they forgot the drain plugs. Without the plugs, the boat fills with water and sinks, which is a big problem when it is supposed to stay above water.
12. When The Paint Machine Decides To Malfunction
While filling an order in the paint department, this woman was about to have the worst day she could have imagined. She thought she sealed the paint can tight enough before putting it in the mixer, but it exploded on her instead.
She is now the poster child during the employee training sessions for what not to do when mixing paint. We hope she was allowed to leave early to go home and clean the paint off herself instead of finishing the shift covered in what looks like mustard.
13. There Was One Unhappy Child Involved In This Equation
We all know that builders usually use cement, and if you go anywhere near the wet cement, they give you death stares. While there is a time and place for fooling around, you probably should stay far away from the wet cement just in case.
It looks like this child was at the wrong place at the wrong time because his imprint is there with the abandoned scooter, and he is somewhere else. Now this memory will be imprinted into the sidewalk forever unless they repave it.
14. When You Find Out You're Allergic To Cats
There is nothing more crushing to a child than finding out they are allergic to something they love. This little angel wanted a cat so much that she finally convinced her mother to get one after months of begging. Unfortunately, the girl turned out to be allergic to cats.
Sadly, they couldn't keep the cat and had to find it a different loving home. The little girl had to go back to watching cat videos all day long to fill the void because she was so sad that she had to give her kitten away.
15. He May Or May Not Have Spilled A Little
When delivering paint from point A to point B, the best thing to do is secure the lids. The last thing anyone wants is a car full of paint like this unfortunate person. They must have thought the lids were closed enough, and nothing would happen.
When their wife hinted at a fresh paint job, she probably wasn't referring to this inside of the car. This is going to put a dent in his bank account to have this professionally cleaned.
16. Even The Cops Look Confused
One of the worst ways to feel pain is by getting attacked by a cactus. If you don't believe us, take this guy, for example. He fell into a cactus and got thousands of needles stuck in his skin. The paramedics look confused at how this could have happened.
Nature does find weird and wacky ways to hurt humans, and it got its revenge on this man. We would love to know the series of events leading up to this moment and how he could have avoided getting pricked by the cacti.
17. The Escalator To Nowhere
Have you ever seen something designed so poorly that you couldn't even believe it was built? Maybe the architect was playing a prank on people, or the mall wanted to see if people were paying attention.
If people use this escalator, they are going to walk straight into a wall. The guy pretty much rammed himself into the wall to show everyone what would happen if they used this escalator. This has to be a joke, right?
18. Never Propose In A Field With Shifty Gophers
This person proposed to their girlfriend, and while he was doing it, he dropped the ring down a gopher hole. Those shifty gophers have sticky fingers, and the man probably never got his ring back, which is a bunch of money down the drain or the hole in this case.
Although the man didn't get the ring back, his girlfriend still said yes. The gopher decided to keep the ring and propose to his gopher girlfriend. They are married and have a lot of kids.
19. To Enter Or Not To Enter, That Is The Question
People must have trouble figuring out what to do when they approach this door because it says do not enter and enter, so how does someone decide. Most stores have two separate doors for exit and entry to avoid traffic jams.
This person must have thought of Shakespeare when they reached the confusing door. It is like "to be or not to be," but enter or don't enter instead. Maybe this is one of those doors you can go in and out of.
20. And That Is Why We Wear Safety Vests
Fire hoses can be really useful in extinguishing a fire, but did you know that they can make people fly as well? These kids were playing with a fire hose during the coast guard demo and we feel bad for the poor guy who was at the receiving end of it.
After this minor incident, we can imagine this guy will have to go through some training on why they don't let children touch the hoses. However, the children learned a valuable lesson about life vests that day.
21. That's Not How You Are Supposed To Roast A Marshmallow
Marshmallows are the perfect addition to s'mores, hot chocolate, and plenty of other sweet treats, but we are pretty sure they aren't supposed to go anywhere near an iron.
It looks like they thought they were on to something clever by heating up the entire bag of marshmallows, but instead, it got stuck to the bag and melted the plastic and marshmallows together.
22. A Bonus Staircase
Attention to detail is a crucial component when it comes to designing anything, including staircases. Every measurement has to be precise, from the length to the width and even the shape. The builder here didn't like reading memos and made a huge mistake.
Although there can be tiny mistakes, this one is huge. Instead of leaving both sides open, they put a rail at the top of one side, so it is blocked off. Anyone who walks up that way will have to crawl under the rail to get out.
23. Taco Bell Has Some 'Splaining To Do
If you are someone who loves Taco Bell, you know that some of their food isn't half bad. The word taco is literally in the restaurant's name, so you would think that is the one thing they can't mess up, but they proved us wrong.
It's possible that we can forgive this mistake, but it is pretty embarrassing that they put all the filling outside the taco shell. They had one job, and somehow it got messed up.
24. You Can't Live If You Don't Wash Your Hands
When you go to a public restroom, it is common practice to wash your hands after using the facilities. However, there is a sign to remind employees to wash their hands at almost every restaurant when it should be common sense.
This restaurant put up one of those signs and forgot to check that every word was spelled correctly. When someone noticed that it said living instead of leaving, they had to share because it seemed like a harsh punishment for not washing your hands.
25. The Handle That Refuses To Act Like A Handle
When installing a door handle, it seems like it would be a task that didn't require many instructions. However, humans continue to amaze us by doing things incorrectly, and this one is the cherry on top.
The gentleman who installed this door handle clearly wasn't thinking about privacy or functionality because the door doesn't even close. If you try to install something on your own, it might be better to leave things to the professionals.
26. Illegal Cars WILL Be Tolerated
When you are looking for a parking space, you have to be cautious of the signs around you to tell if it is legal to park in that lot or not. According to the sign, this parking lot is private for people who pay, but illegal cars will be fine.
They were just missing one letter, and it makes us wonder if a vandal ripped off the d to park in the lot. Unless the owner of the lot is very kind, we doubt the sign is saying it is okay for illegal cars to park there.
27. Someone Needs To Learn How To Spell
Remember when you were little, and you had a hard time spelling simple words? Well, the person who wrote this road signal was probably a toddler because they spelled it wrong.
What makes it even better is that the correct spelling is on the sign right next to where they painted the word. If people are driving, they might not notice the mistake, but it would bother us too much to look at this all the time.
28. The Iron Went On A Journey To The Center Of The Earth
This person must have been completely distracted while they were ironing things because they put the iron flat on this surface, and it melted a hole through the counter. It looks like it fell to the core of the earth, and no one will ever see that iron again.
We are hoping that they were absent-minded and not brainless. It is interesting how perfect the hole is like a machine cut it. How are they going to fix that? Maybe they will keep the hole as a reminder not to leave the iron lying flat while it is hot.
29. When You Break The First Rule Of Working On Television
As a weather girl, one of the biggest rules is that you can't wear green because you are standing in front of a green screen. This girl must be new because she didn't understand the concept of the green scream and what would happen to her dress.
Instead of focusing on the weather report, people were too concentrated on the fact that her dress was part of the forecast. It was almost like she was turning into a ghost on live television. It looks pretty unprofessional.
30. The Spatula Never Stood A Chance
It seems that a few people on this list don't understand the concept of plastic melting at high heat, or they just aren't paying attention half the time. Whatever the case may be, this is a huge fire hazard.
The innocent spatula was taken from the world too soon because of the cook's negligence. Now it's on its way to becoming part of the pan forever. Maybe they can make this into art so that it doesn't go to waste.
31. Even The Book Doesn't Know How To Count
For children, basic lessons include memorizing the alphabet and learning to count. However, that might be a hard lesson to learn when the books you have are incorrect. Now this child is going to confuse five and six for the rest of their life.
This book should be removed from the shelves because some children are going to think that five is actually six, and that will be challenging to unlearn once it is ingrained in their heads.
32. The Christmas Threat
When children are naughty on Christmas, they usually expect a stocking full of coal. However, the children who are the worst of the worst can now expect a Christmas bag of threats, and the parents got it at a bargain price of just $250.
What kind of threats do you think are hiding in this bag? How bad do you have to be to skip the coal and go right to the bag of threats? If only the person who made this sign would have double-checked their spelling before writing threats instead of treats.
33. Never Trust A Can By Its Label
They say you should never judge a book by its cover, but no one said that rule applied to canned vegetables. It turns out that you can't always trust the label on the can because there might be a different vegetable inside.
This person was hoping to use the can of peas in their pantry, but they found corn instead when they opened it up. Clearly, someone at the factory forgot that peas aren't yellow and put the wrong label on the can.
34. A Mat Just For Your Book
This advertisement makes absolutely no sense. The mat was designed for human use when you go camping, but instead, the product shows a person lying on the grass and using the mat to rest his magazine.
We didn't know magazines needed a whole mat to be comfortable. Maybe they are trying to show that it is the length for a human, but that also could have been shown if the person decided to sit on the mat.
35. What Kind Of Sport Is This Cake For?
The Super Bowl is one of America's most anticipated sporting events, and people have big parties to watch the game. People often bring cakes for dessert, and when people saw this one, they couldn't stop laughing.
This cake seems to be celebrating the thing that happens after you eat all the Super Bowl party snacks. Maybe football isn't a sport everyone wants to celebrate because it causes a lot of indigestion.
36. Did The License Plate Come Before The Accident, Or Is It A New Addition?
Sometimes people have the worst luck no matter how careful they are because there is always some awful driver on the road. We feel for these people because they have to pay to fix this huge dent in their car.
The guy was rightfully fed up with people smashing into his car, so he got a special license plate for all the crazy drivers on the road. Instead of a regular license plate, his is a plea to others to stop, instead of hitting his car.
37. A Ruined Fortune
While fortune cookies are usually that nice snack at the end of the meal, sometimes they have a few words of wisdom inside. Sometimes the fortunes are nonsense, but it is more about the excitement to see what yours says.
However, this person was disappointed to see the fortune wasn't even inside the cookie, and it wasn't a fortune at all. What kind of restaurant would hand out these cookies that take away all the excitement of getting one.
38. It's Not Useful When It's Stuck Up There
Have you ever gotten so frustrated while trying to swat a fly that you throw the fly swatter into the skylight? That is precisely what happened to this person, and the swatter got stuck up there like it was mocking them for getting so angry.
They must have attempted to throw the fly swatter at the fly, and it went downhill from there. We can only imagine what this person thought when he threw it, and it didn't come down. A lot of curse words were probably going through his mind at that moment.
39. They Couldn't Wear A Seat Belt, But They Had A Full Face Of Makeup On
If you have time to put on a full face of makeup, you have the extra second to click your seatbelt. While this was probably caused by someone stopping short, the person who wasn't wearing a seatbelt when flying forward into the seat and revealed how much makeup she was wearing.
It seems like the makeup would have easily been visible even without a crash, but this just made it even more apparent. The lesson here should be that you should always wear a seatbelt for safety and to protect your makeup.
40. Maybe Bubbles Weren't A Good Idea
This is by far our favorite photo because she got a bubble in her eye while leaving the wedding ceremony with her new husband. It was traditional to have guests throw rice, but people have modernized the trend with bubbles. However, it can still be dangerous.
That is certainly not a face any bride wants to remember, but it is a hilarious moment the couple looks back on. At least when her children asked to see their wedding album, the family can have a good laugh about the dangers of bubbles.
